A man has been arrested following the seizure of €18,000 worth of suspected cocaine at a house in Galway yesterday.
Gardaí attached to the Galway Divisional Drugs Unit carried out a search of a house in the Headford Road area of the city at approximately 1pm on Thursday afternoon.
During the course of the search Gardaí located a number of bags believed to contain approximately €18,000 worth of suspected cocaine (pending analysis).
These items were seized and one man in his mid-20s was arrested at the scene.
He was detained at the North Western Regional Garda Headquarters in Galway and was released without charge later that evening.

Galway Bay fm newsroom â Gardaà have seized â¬20,000 of suspected cannabis in Loughrea.
Members attached with the Galway Divisional Drugs Unit conducted a search of a car shortly before 8pm yesterday in the Bookeen North area.
During the course of the search approximately â¬20,000 of suspected cannabis herb, which is pending analysis, was located in the boot of the vehicle.
A woman in her mid-20s was arrested and detained at the North Western Regional Garda Headquarters in Galway under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
She was since released without charge.
A file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
