The Bulloch County Board of Commissioners will host a Career Fair on Wednesday, Feb. 17 from 3-7 p.m. at the Honey Bowen Building, for job openings within the county government divisions.
These divisions include: Agricultural Complex, Animal Shelter, Building Maintenance, Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Splash in the Boro and Tax Commissioner.
There are approximately 17 full-time positions to fill and over 125 part-time positions to fill. The full time positions range from mechanics to Magistrate Court clerks to truck drivers. The part time positions consist mostly of the Recreation Department’s seasonal employees, such as guest services workers, lifeguards, summer camp coordinators, athletic scorekeepers, groundskeepers and more

The Bulloch County Schools, which as of Wednesday had roughly 10% of their total student and employee population on precautionary quarantines for possible coronavirus exposure, do not require face masks to come to school in-person. Social distancing is encouraged but not uniformly achieved.
But the school system is requiring, this semester, that elementary and middle school students taking their classes at home in the virtual program report to school sites in-person to take academic tests known as iReady assessments.

Because of a COVID-19 emergency, Election Day voters from Bulloch County’s “Fair” Precinct – who normally vote in the community building at the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fairgrounds, 16942 Georgia Highway 67 – will need to go instead to Pittman Park United Methodist Church to vote Tuesday.
