Some party leaders last Thursday resolved to choose ward officials by consensus. The resolution was reached during a meeting held at the Gawon Nama residence of Senator Aliyu Wamakko, who is the leader of the party in the state.
But speaking with newsmen at the weekend, Hon Salame said the decision would not stand because other key members of the party were not carried along.
He said, “The Speaker of the House of Assembly who is a card carrying member of APC and myself were not part of that decision. We only heard that some stakeholders of the party met at a private house of one of our leaders and took the decision.

In what may be interpreted as a new political twist that may impact future elections in the country, ex-Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II has been appointed by the African leader of the Tijjaniyyah sect, Sheikh Makki Nyass, as the leader of the sect in Nigeria at an event organized to honour a servant of God, Shehu Nyass
in Sokoto state.
The appointment, which was made on Friday at Sokoto during the annual festival of the sect, is seen as both a spiritual and temporal elevation of the deposed emir.
Shortly after the announcement, Sanusi II and many of his adherents converged at the Gawon Nama private residence of Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State, where they worshipped for about two hours.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, says Nigeria will come out of its myriad of current formidable challenges and bounce back to be a stronger, as well as a more united nation.
Gbajabiamila spoke on Sunday, in Sokoto, when he paid a courtesy call on Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, at his Sahabi Dange road, Gawon Nama, residence.
According to him, other developed nation’s had passed through such difficult times and they had successfully transited and weathered the storm.
In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to Senator Wamakko, Bashir Rabe Manir, he quoted the Speaker as saying that, “Wamakko as his Leader, also acknowledged the sterling invaluable contributions the former Governor of Sokoto State has been doing for the state and Nigeria, in general.”

The former governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Dalhatu Bafarawa has declared that his recent visit to Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, the leader of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Sokoto, has no political undertone whatsoever as he remains loyal to his party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The former Governor stated this on Tuesday in Sokoto following media reports that he was planning to dump the PDP for the ruling APC.
“My visit to the former governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has nothing to do with the issue of politics or anything about his party and change of political platform.
