LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) Â As of Tuesday, April 13, 2021, the state’s official COVID-19 tracking website shows that 756,564 Michigan residents have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Since March 10, when the first death was reported, 16,586 Michiganders have died from the acute respiratory illness. A Breakdown of COVID-19 Data
The 24-hour data increase shows that 8,867 more people have contracted the virus. In addition, there were 74 new deaths.
On Saturday, May 23 the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services also announced changes to how COVID-19 testing data is reported to make it more accurate and relevant as the state continues to expand diagnostic testing.
