Registration opened for 1B COVID-19 vaccine clinics on Thursday, resulting in nearly 600 vaccine appointments for the Feb. 3 and Feb. 6 clinics. Individuals who were unable to break through the busy phone lines will have the opportunity to sign up for future clinics as soon as additional doses are available. Updates will be shared on a weekly basis, on Mondays, with local media, on the Kossuth County Public Health hotline at 515-295-4450 and at www.krhc.com. For 12 years, Dr. Mia Hegarty-Roach was accustomed to talking to her patients in her office at the clinic in the Kossuth Regional Health Center. In 2020, communication with her patients became different.
“COVID has changed the way I do business quite a bit,” said Hegarty-Roach, a clinical psychologist. “At this point I probably do 85 to 90 percent telehealth and only 10 to 15 percent in-person.
