NCSD Offering Summer Takeaway Breakfast and Lunch for Students Get our free mobile app According to a press release from NCSD Public Relations Director Tanya Southerland, any student 18 years old and younger are able to pick up these takeaway meals throughout the week. There is no application process and students do not need to on the Free and Reduced Lunch program. The release states that takeaway breakfast and lunch meals are provided Monday-Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. On Fridays, students are provided with breakfast and lunch for the weekend as well. Casper City Council Looks at Raising Recreation Fees The Casper City Council will consider raising some of the fees at its indoor and outdoor recreation facilities. Tim Cortez, the city s director of parks and recreation, told the city council at its pre-meeting on Tuesday that the department has not raised facilities fees for four or five years. We just can t kick the can down the road anymore, Cortez said. The fee increases would be phased in over one year to three years to soften the blow to the users of the facilities, he said. The fee increases would follow a pay to play model that would have the users pay their fair share and lessen the burden on the city s general fund, Cortez said.

Casper Recreation Facilities Closed Today; Local Highways Closed

Other closed facilities are the Casper Ice Arena, Casper Family Aquatic Center, and Casper Recreation Center. Likewise, there is no unnecessary travel on city streets. Local state roads are closed, too, according to the Wyoming Department of Transportation s wyoroad.info website. Wyoming Highway 258, otherwise known as Wyoming Boulevard and Outer Drive, on the south side of Casper between Mills and Evansville is closed due to winter conditions. WYDOT does not know when it will reopen. Even if you manage to get on Outer Drive, do not park on the side of the road because that will delay the reopening. WYDOT advises that Casper Mountain Road, otherwise known as Wyoming Highway 251, is slick with snowfall, blowing snow and reduced visibility.
