India visit,Boris Johnson first major trip as PM
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson accepted the invitation by Indian PM Narendra Modi to be Chief Guest at Republic Day of India. He will be the Chief Guest at the forthcoming Republic Day parade. UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab made the announcement after meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in New Delhi.Presence of PM Johnson at the celebrations will be symbolic of a new era, a new phase of our relationship.
Earlier Prince Philip in 1959 and Queen Elizabeth II in 1961. Britain’s Chancellor of the Exchequer Rap Butler (1956, along with Japan’s former Chief Justice Kotaro Tanaka), and then Chief of Defence Staff Lord Louis Mountbatten (1964) have also been Chief Guests in the past.

New Delhi [India], December 16 (ANI): UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, on Wednesday, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi where the two held discussions covering various facets of the India-UK partnership, according to the Ministry of External Affairs. On Tuesday, Raab met Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar where he said that the UK will be working closely with India to tackle climate change.
