Project Now envisions a top-to-bottom makeover of the current arena on Elgin Street, rather than a new build on The Kingsway.
Sudbury-based 3RDLINE STUDIO, the architectural firm behind Project Now, envisions a grand entrance area and a top-fed bowl surrounded by an upper-level concourse. The building would be completely accessible and would have easy loading access and event support spaces.
Motion to evaluate renovation proposal for the downtown area defeated
Sudbury city councilors narrowly defeated a motion to evaluate a renovation proposal for the downtown area. This is after Sudbury architecture firm 3rd Line Studio came forward with the proposal as a cost-saving alternative to building the Kingsway Entertainment District (KED) entitled “Project Now”. It would have seen the Sudbury arena refurbished, potentially saving $40 million over the KED.
Police looking for missing teen: 16-year-old Kaylee Hodgson
Greater Sudbury Police is looking for a missing teen this morning. 16-year-old missing girl Kaylee Hodgson. The teen was last seen in the New Sudbury area at around 2p.m. Dec. 12.
