PD: Driver of Quadruple-Fatal Crash Sold Heroin in Hudson Valley

On Tuesday, the Kingston Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) concluded an investigation into the sale of heroin and fentanyl occurring throughout the City of Kingston with the arrest of 26-year-old Meredith McSpirit of Kingston.
McSpirit was taken into custody at her residence on Rymrock Road and brought to the Kingston Police Department where she was charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

On Thursday, the City of Kingston Police Department reported the arrest of 37-year-old Raymond A. Snyder of Murray Street in Kingston for second-degree murder and first-degree burglary, felonies.
On July 11, 2020, the Kingston Police Department received a call for shots fired at a home on St. James Street. Uniformed patrol officers responded and found 47-year-old Romero Underwood in the home with an apparent gunshot wound, police say.
He was treated by EMS at the scene and transported to the Broadway campus of the Health Alliance where he succumbed to the injury, police say. The homicide investigation led police to believe Underwood was not a random victim but a target of a crime, the Kingston Police Department said days after the murder.

It s an understatement to say that anything regarding COVID-19 and stimulus checks is stressful. That s why scammers are currently out in full force.
The Kingston Police Department is warning Kington residents and those in the Hudson Valley to be on the lookout for the latest COVID-Stimulus scam.
According to a post on the Kingston Police Departments Facebook page, there has been yet another text message scam going around. This time, scammers will send a text message explaining that you have been enrolled for a COVID-19 Relief Scheme.
Along with the text is a link and promises of making up to $1,472 every day.
