New Redditch Next to open at Kingfisher Shopping Centre

A BRAND new Next store is set to open soon at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre in Redditch. The department store has relocated to the former M&S unit which is directly opposite the previous Next store at the centre. The store includes womenswear, menswear, kidswear and home department, which will soon be joined by a Muffin Break coffee shop and Simply Fresh food hall. The new Next will open on Monday (April 12) at 9am when non-essential retailers across the country begin reopening. The M&S branch in Redditch closed in 2018, with staff members transferring to neighbouring stores. Store manager Claire Chapman said: This is a new relocation to a more prominent spot in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre. It is a beautiful, bright store, housing womenswear, menswear, childrenswear and home product. Redditch Towns Fund bid for £25m is approved | Redditch Advertiser

PLANS to regenerate Redditch town centre have been green lit by the borough council s executive committee. In September 2019 it was announced that Redditch was among 101 towns that would be invited to put forward town deal plans to secure up to £25m in central government funding to help economic growth and regeneration. The Town Investment Plan (TIP), put together by Redditch Borough Council, is required to focus on the three key themes, including urban regeneration, skills and enterprise infrastructure, and connectivity, both transport and digital. One of the proposed TIP projects is set to transform Redditch’s railway quarter, introducing an integrated multi-modal transport interchange to act as a modern gateway to the town centre. The council is asking for £8.5million to help fund the project.
