Revealed: Top 20 Arab universities for 2021

Dubai: The United Arab Emirates University has been ranked as the region’s third best university, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021. The list was based on the annual results of the World University Rankings of higher education institutions, and only included universities located in nations that are members of the Arab League. The top university for the coming year was King Abdul Aziz University in Saudi Arabia, with the remaining top four institutes also from the Middle East. The 72 universities featured on the list were ranked as specialist science and technology universities. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Minister of State and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, confirmed that this achievement is attained due to the efforts and comprehensive vision of the United Arab Emirates University. Mohammed bin Rashid Abaalkheil, vice president at STC Group

Mohammed bin Rashid Abaalkheil has been vice president of the corporate relations sector at STC Group since October. Abaalkheil received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 2000. Between 2002 and 2004, he obtained a Master of Business Administration from Cardiff Business School and a degree in architecture from the Welsh School of Architecture, UK. He also attained an advanced certificate for executives in management, innovation and technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2013. He has been participating in the Eisenhower Fellowship program since 2016. Abaalkheil served as general manager of corporate communications at STC Group from 2018 to 2020. He also served as chief marketing and digital officer at the Arabian Centers Company for over one year.

L Oreal launches new program to support Saudi graduates

JEDDAH: L’Oreal Middle East has put together a new program for Saudis called Stretch and Tech, which aims to support new graduates. The 145-hour program exposes students to the global brand’s digital and marketing directions across the company’s major divisions. L’Oreal is also offering CV-building workshops for university students, as well as business talks on the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector and career paths. “Supporting university students in developing their careers and enhancing their employability is key to us, and we are now working on expanding the programs to reach as many universities as possible in Saudi Arabia,” said Jean-Dominique de Ravignan, the brand’s human resources director in the Middle East.

Najm s Dr Mohammad Al-Suliman named best CEO in insurance industry

Dr. Mohammad Al-Suliman, chief executive of Najm Insurance Services, has been named as the best CEO in the insurance category for 2020 by International Business magazine. The report, from cybersecurity firm Kaspersky, said that Saudi Arabia saw more than 22.5 million brute force attacks in 2020 on remote desktop protocols (RDPs), the most popular way to access Windows or servers. Brute force attacks are trial-and-error attempts to guess login information, encryption keys or find a hidden web page.
