Akufo-Addo Set To Meet Cabinet On Possible School Reopening – Oppong Nkrumah

  President Akufo-Addo will tomorrow Wednesday 30th December 2020 meet the cabinet to decide on the possible reopening of schools in January, Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has disclosed. According to him, government has been in discussions with various stakeholders within the sector to come up with a comprehensive and detailed plan on the reopening of schools, and hence, the President’s meeting with his cabinet tomorrow is to finalize and provide a way forward. In a Twitter post on Tuesday 29th December 2020, the Minister disclosed that “President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo prepares to meet cabinet tomorrow for a decision on the possible reopening of schools in January. Key on his agenda will be to examine the proposals for assuring the safety of our children, should schools reopen.”

Deal With Threats Against Journalists - Security Agencies Told

  The Minister for Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has charged the security agencies to deal with threats and attacks against journalists. It follows recent incidents of attacks and threats on some media practitioners including investigative journalist Manasseh Azuri Awuni and morning show host Captain Smart of Angel FM. Interacting with journalists from Ofoase where he was re-elected as MP, Mr. Nkrumah said “a number of journalists have reported threats and at least one (1) robbery in the aftermath of the 2020 elections. It has been suggested that these threats are associated with their work as journalists. It is of critical importance that our security agencies get to the bottom of these complaints and use all the legitimate means at their disposal to unmask the identities of the culprits - whatever their motives - and arrest and prosecute them with speed”

Veteran Journalist and Managing Editor of The Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., believes pink sheets are not the only form of evidence that a political party can adduce in court to back claims of an electoral fraud. To him, eventhough pink sheets can be considered as ‘election bible , factual evidence in the form of visuals which show figures of the elections being tampered with to aid the incumbent, cannot also be discounted. He was responding to calls by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to proceed to the legal arena instead of just making sentimental pronouncements and back claims that it (opposition party) won the majority of seats in parliament and the presidency in the December 7 polls with pink sheet evidence.

  Deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide has called on Ghanaians to remember NDC’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama in prayers.   He claims the former President is disoriented after losing the presidential race again to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.   According to Pius Enam Hadzide, the trounce has exhausted Mr. Mahama who needs to be showed love and care to help him recuperate.   NEAT FM’s morning show Ghana Montie .    The Electoral Commissioner, Madam Jean Mensa on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, declared incumbent President Nana Akufo-Addo the winner of the presidential election.   The 76-year-old Akufo-Addo beat his opponent and predecessor John Dramani Mahama of the NDC with 51.59% of the vote.

Election 2020: NDC Only Interested In Inciting Supporters To Cause Pandemonium - Pius Enam Hadzide

  Deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide has said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is ‘confused’ with their own figures which suggest their presidential candidate won the December 7, presidential election.   He claims the NDC is only interested in making baseless arguments that will incite its supporters to cause pandemonium rather than backing their allegations with facts and figures.   Pius Enam Hadzide who was speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show Ghana Montie told host Kwesi Aboagye that, “the NDC is still making mistakes the EC has corrected because they don’t even know what the real figures are.”   “They have held numerous press conferences claiming their candidate won even before the EC declared the results, but ask them the margin and they won’t be able to tell you,” he added.
