About 70 per cent of the health care workers were vaccinated at the 12 centres of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday as compared to 58 per cent which was done just a day before.
According to the vaccine data, 5,590 of 7,697 targeted healthcare workers (HCWs) were inoculated on the ninth sessions of the mass immunisation drive. Civic officials said there are days when the numbers are less, but there was a 14 per cent rise in the last 24 hours as they have added one more vaccine centre at NESCO jumbo centre, increasing the total number of vaccine centre to 12 in the city.

Just as the coronavirus pandemic forced cultural hygiene shifts in society, it has also changed how some West Australian mothers choose to give birth.
WA Health statistics reveal the number of women giving birth at home in WA jumped by 62.6 per cent to 304 in 2020. While most still gave birth at hospital – 6965 in private hospitals, 23,773 in public hospitals – those numbers were down from previous years.
Births at private hospitals fell by about 15 per cent, down by 1224, while births at the state’s 16 public hospitals decreased by 5 per cent, down by 1220.

Around 3:15 p.m. yesterday, Tuesday 19th January, 2021, an eighteen-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst impaired as well for possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply, after being involved in two separate road traffic collisions.
The first incident took place on Mullet Bay Road just west of Wellington Lane in St. George.
A driver travelling west on Mullet Bay Road stopped to allow an oversized vehicle headed in the opposite direction to get by.
A white Yamaha motorcycle ridden by the eighteen-year-old male slammed into the back of the first vehicle. The rider was injured in the collision which also resulted in damage to both vehicles, but he subsequently rode off.
