Mother of boy locked in cage at Seattle school files lawsuit May 10, 2021
Seattle Public Schools faces a new lawsuit after a principal repeatedly locked an 8-year-old boy in an outdoor enclosure that staff referred to as the cage.
Witnesses told district investigators that sometimes the boy, Jaleel Williams, was kept in the fenced, covered area for hours, and sometimes all day.
Because there were no table or chairs in the area, he ate his lunch on a concrete floor, in view of other students who played outside the enclosure.

It seems that the split between Bill and Melinda Gates has been looming for some time, with new reports revealing Melinda Gates contacted divorce lawyers two years ago about separating from her billionaire husband.
The 56-year-old has reportedly been in contact with several law firms since 2019 regarding her marriage to Bill, with people familiar with the matter and documents revealing Melinda Gates said the couple s relationship was irretrievably broken , according to The Wall Street Journal.

SEATTLE (AP) Meineke Car Care Centers paid $12.5 million to settle a lawsuit brought by an Everett woman who alleged a safety inspection missed a malfunctioning tire that caused a crash and nearly killed her two days later, according to her attorney.
The Meineke franchise told Janyce “Fi” MacKenzie that the tires of her Ford Explorer were checked when she visited the shop for maintenance in April and August of 2016, said her attorney, Lawrence Kahn.
MacKenzie, 56, was driving on I-90 in Montana on August 4, 2016, when the tire suddenly tore apart and she lost control of the SUV, Kahn said, the Everett Herald reported.
The prosecutor s office, however, said the don t have the evidence to support such a charge.
âWhile many details remain unknown, what is known is that attacks and hate crimes against (Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders) is on the rise, and we cannot rule out bias as a factor in this crime. We ask that the investigators look upon this death with a careful eye toward hate as a motivating factor, Connie So, president of OCA-Asian Pacific American Advocates of Greater Seattle, said in a news release Thursday.
John Huynh, 29, was stabbed in the heart April 25 following an altercation with a neighbor in Bothell, Washington, where he lived, according to charging documents filed in King County Superior Court.
