SEATTLE Loren Culp, the Republican former police officer who lost his campaign for governor by more than half a million votes, is suing the Secretary of State’s office to demand an audit of election results in six Washington counties. Culp’s attorney, Stephen R. Pidgeon, filed papers in King County Superior Court Thursday, alleging duplicate ballots, outdated records and dead people voting contributed to Culp’s 56 to 43 percent loss to incumbent Gov. Jay Inslee. The statewide vote has already been certified, and Secretary of State Kim Wyman has said she’s found no evidence of fraud. Culp lost the official tally by 545,177 votes, many of them cast in the counties where he’s challenging results: King, Pierce, Thurston, Clark, Skagit and Kitsap.
