KSrelief Signs Joint Cooperation Program with IFAD

ROME, ITALY: Today, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) signed a joint cooperation program with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
The program was signed by the Supervisor General of KSrelief, Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, and the President of IFAD, Mr. Gilbert F. Houngbo, in Rome, Italy, and its purpose is to improve food security and combat malnutrition around the world, build capacities in the humanitarian and relief field, allow for the sharing of expertise and knowledge, and enhance future cooperation between the two organizations.
Dr. Al Rabeeah stressed that this program exemplified the Kingdom’s leading role in alleviating the suffering of crisis-affected people globally. KSrelief’s medical team provided health services to 420 individuals, including 136 children. Meanwhile, as many as 172 Syrian refugees benefited from the volunteer program on first aid. The educational program assisted 170 refugee children, while 58 women took advantage of the voluntary psychological support program. As many as 30 individuals benefited from the women’s support and empowerment program, bringing the total number of the campaign’s beneficiaries since its launch to 850. KSrelief seeks to attract more volunteers to take part in relief and humanitarian work, which is in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 of targeting and developing volunteer work while increasing the percentage of volunteers.
