Two people charged with burglary, assault for hitting Kitsap County Sheriff s Office deputy Christian Vosler, Kitsap Sun SOUTH KITSAP A 28-year-old Puyallup man and a 21-year-old Buckley woman have been accused of burglarizing a home on Bethel Burley Road and then hitting a Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office deputy with a car while trying to drive away from the scene. Mollie Rayeanne Kerby and Keaton Grant Morgan were charged Monday in Kitsap County Super Court after allegedly stealing from several of the victim’s detached garages and then striking a deputy with their getaway vehicle. Morgan was charged with one count of second-degree burglary and one count of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. Kerby, the driver, was charged with one count of second-degree assault, one count of second-degree burglary and one count of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.

That’s the thinking behind Kitsap Strong’s “Handle With Care” program, which is debuting this winter and features partnerships between the Bremerton and Central Kitsap school districts, Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, Bremerton Police Department, Bremerton Fire Department, and Central Kitsap and South Kitsap Fire and Rescue.

Kitsap County jury trials suspended again amid COVID-19 surge Andrew Binion, Kitsap Sun Jury trials at the Kitsap County Courthouse were “re-suspended” Tuesday after a surge in holiday season coronavirus infections and the recessing Monday of what would have been Kitsap County Superior Court s third criminal trial since March. Superior Court Judge Kevin Hull and District Court Judge Jeff Jahns issued the order, saying cases are surging after the Thanksgiving holiday to their highest point yet. “Though COVID-19 cases were rising before Thanksgiving, the (Kitsap Public) Health District notes Kitsap’s infection rate has increased at an even faster rate,” the two presiding judges wrote in their order.
