Four-alarm fire damages Yakima duplexes causing $1.5 M in damage KIRO 7 News Staff © Provided by KIRO Seattle Two duplexes in Yakima were heavily damaged by a four-alarm fire early Saturday, resulting in $1.5 million in damage, firefighters said. A Yakima Fire Department crew was called at about 12:45 a.m. to 3 Burning Tree Drive, where firefighters saw flames shooting from two multistory residences. Crews then called in a second alarm and checked to make sure everyone had gotten out. Firefighters said nearby vegetation and “wood-shake roofs” helped fuel the fire as they worked to contain it. Several blocks away, a fire had also started at another residence due to embers that had traveled through the air, which a Yakima fire crew was able to put out.
