Rally held for bystander shot and killed at vigil for another shooting victim in Brooklyn UP NEXT
A rally was held Wednesday for the woman who was killed while at a vigil for another shooting victim.
She was attending a vigil for 31-year-old Miles Bobbsemple, who was shot and killed less than 24 hours earlier at a house party in Brooklyn.
Police believe both of them were innocent victims of gang violence. Birkett s mother also lost a son, Neyon Hamilton, to gun violence. I can t take it. I can t. I m going through too much, too much, Patricia Hamilton said. They take my daughter s life away. And I d like to see justice for my son Neyon. I just want to see them put away.
The 47-year-old victim was knifed in the chest near the Artel Hotel on Malcolm X. Blvd. near Broadway in Bedford-Stuyvesant and ran inside for help just past 9:05 p.m. Tuesday, cops said.
The 31-year-old victim was dropped off at Kings County Hospital about 12:35 a.m. and died there a short time later. The person who drove him there took off, police said.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A grieving family is demanding an investigation from the New York City Department of Education.
CBS2’s Aundrea Cline-Thomas has more on their pleas for more information.
‘When Romy died last Friday, I felt like my womb was ripped out of my body,” Jeanne Vilsaint, Romy’s godmother, said. She’s among the 12-year-old’s grieving family members desperate for answers.
“The only thing we know as a family, we know we sent our kid to school and unfortunately he’s dead,” uncle Lamarre Vilsaint said.
