Silver Alert issued for missing Kings Mountain man

A Silver Alert was issued for an elderly man in Kings Mountain, but he has since been found safe by the Concord Police Department, according to the Kings Mountain Police Department. The man was last seen leaving 801 Meadow Brooks Road at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. He was considered endangered and is believed to be suffering from dementia or a similar cognitive impairment.

A Silver Alert has been issued for missing, endangered 74-year-old Dorsey Gerald Flowers in Kings Mountain. Dorsey Gerald Flowers He is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment, officials say. Authorities describe Flowers as a 74-year-old White man, 6 feet tall, 140 pounds with short grey hair and hazel-colored eyes. Police say Flowers wears glasses and a hearing aid, and was last seen wearing a brown Members Only jacket, blue jeans, and grey sketcher tennis shoes.

One man was shot and rushed to the hospital from western Gaston County Tuesday afternoon. The shooting happened in Kings Mountain, but the shooting victim was picked up by GEMS on CV Alexander Drive, which is along U.S. 74 near Crowders Mountain Golf Course in Gaston County, around 1:20 p.m. In the same timeframe, Kings Mountain Police responded to a shots-fired call at the intersection of Fairview Street and Third Street, according to a press release. A person driving a gray sedan attempted to transport the wounded man from the shooting scene in Kings Mountain to CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, but they pulled over at CV Alexander Drive due to a flat tire, according to Gaston County Police Capt. Billy Downey.
