Kevin Stitt signed into law Monday a groundbreaking regulatory reform bill, which will create a Joint Committee on Administrative Rules to review all state agency rules throughout the year and more quickly remove unnecessary and costly regulations. “State agency rules and regulations must be obeyed like any other laws. While many are necessary, others can be overly burdensome, expensive or unnecessary. If we truly want to break the red tape, the legislature must take its oversight of the rule-making process more seriously, said the bill s principal author Sen. Julie Daniels, R-Bartlesville. SB 913 provides the framework for the House and Senate jointly to do just that.

Bartlesville students accepted into Youth Leadership Oklahoma Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise Bartlesville High School juniors Adysen Grindle and Suchi Jain have been accepted into the 21st class of Youth Leadership Oklahoma, a prestigious program that provides leadership opportunities to Oklahoma youth. The program selects 52 rising high school seniors through a competitive process based on proven leadership, geographic, ethnic and cultural diversity to participate each year. “Leadership Oklahoma is very excited about the 52 young people chosen for this year’s program,  said Adam Leaming, chief executive officer for the University Center at Ponca City and youth program chair for the 21st class of Youth Leadership Oklahoma. YLOK Class 21 is an outstanding blend of student leaders from across the state.”

Bartlesville natives linked to discovery of extra COVID-19 doses

Conservation in Clay

Conservation in Clay Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise Sariah Monfared took the white clay and began to bring her sketch of a skunk to life in the form of a sculpture. Does it really look like it? Monfared said after someone noted the shape of the wire armature that anchors the piece looked similar to her sketch. The Bartlesville High School senior art student was one of several students in instructor Julie Giovannetti s art class who are participating in a collaborative pilot project with the Sutton Avian Research Center and three professional sculptors from the Oklahoma Sculpture Society. The goal of the Conservation in Clay project is to educate students and the community about the natural world through art.
