On his Twitter account, Rodriguez conveyed grief to the Zimbabwean people and Government, which he extended to the diplomat s relatives and friends. According to Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the foreign minister died of Covid-19. Moyo fought all his life so that Zimbabwe could be free, and said he was a personal friend, the president stated. George Charamba, secretary of the Presidency and the Government, noted in a statement that Moyo died at a local hospital, according to The Herald newspaper.
