Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC) will become Alberta’s newest polytechnic, providing residents of the Peace Region access to a broader range of learning and employment opportunities.
This new designation will support the development of a highly skilled and competitive workforce. Polytechnic status enables GPRC to create programming that will better support students, businesses and local industry – including apprenticeship education, certificate and diploma programs and high-quality degrees.

Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC) honoured their graduates this year in a memorable online ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 1.
“We’ve been working very hard since COVID-19 first emerged to protect our students, staff and broader community,” says Dr. Vanessa Sheane, Interim Vice-President, Academic and Research and 2021 Convocation Emcee. “Earlier this year it became abundantly clear that we would need to alter our approach to a virtual format in order to meet our GPRC safety guidelines and comply with public health restrictions.”
This book argues that Canada and its international policies are at a crossroads as US hegemony is increasingly challenged and a new international order is emerging. The contributors look at how Canada has been adjusting to this new environment and resetting priorities to meet its international policy objectives in a number of different fields: from the alignment of domestic politics along new foreign policies, to reshaping its international identity in a post-Anglo order, its relationship with international organizations such as the UN and NATO, place among middle powers, management of peace operations and defense, role in G7 and G20, climate change and Arctic policy, development, and relations with the Global South. Embracing multilateralism has been and will continue to be key to Canada’s repositioning and its ability to maintain its position in this new world order. Grande Prairie and District Catholic Schools announced a St. Catherine’s teacher would be its nominee for a provincial award, recognizing teachers on the threshold of their career.
The district’s board of trustees nominated Nicole Dube for the Edwin Parr Award for District 1 for the Alberta School Board Association’s work in her first year as a teacher.

“I was very excited,” Dube said. “It is even more exciting because you are nominated by your principal and your administration. To know that they know how hard I have been working and that they think I’ve been doing well, I think that was probably the most exciting part, to have that validation from superiors.”
