The hard work and commitment of nurses in the Peace Country will be saluted on May 14 when the Grande Sunset Theatre at Evergreen Park screens the movie “Patch Adams.”
Admission proceeds from the event, which caps of Nurses Week, May 10-16, will be used to support the Striving for Nursing Excellence Bursary.

The hard work and commitment of nurses in the Peace Country will be saluted on May 14 when the Grande Sunset Theatre at Evergreen Park screens the movie “Patch Adams.”
This year’s event is a way of honouring the extra work performed by nursing staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

City of Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton, County of Grande Prairie Reeve Leanne Beaupre, Town of Sexsmith Mayor Kate Potter, Town of Beaverlodge Mayor Gary Rycroft and M.D. of Greenview Reeve Dale Smith are calling on community members to be supportive in COVID-19 response as Alberta case numbers become the highest per capita in Canada, and our local health system is reaching a critical point.

Albertans can be forgiven if they think they are experiencing deja vu.
Alberta Premier Jason Kenney announced increased COVID-19 restrictions over the supper hour Tuesday, many of the restrictions come into effect tonight at midnight, while a transition of all schooling from kindergarten and up to online taking effect Friday and will be in effect for at least three weeks.
