U.K.’s ‘Love Island’ star avoids jail time in Barbados for breaking quarantine orders, ‘attempting to leave the island’ Muri Assunção
Former U.K.’s “Love Island” star Zara Holland is apologizing for breaking quarantine rules in Barbados late last month.
Holland was arrested by the Royal Barbados Police Force on Dec. 29 for reportedly trying to leave the country, despite being told to isolate after her arrival.
The 25-year-old model who was named Miss Great Britain 2015, but was subsequently stripped of her title for having sex with on television with fellow “Island”contestant Alex Bowen arrived on the Caribbean island on Dec. 27 with her boyfriend, 25-year-old Elliot Love.

Former British model Zara Holland was fined $12 000 in seven days or nine months for breaching quarantine.
The woman, who was staying at the Hilton Hotel, just appeared in the District D Magistrates Court charged with breaching quarantine on December 29, 2020 when she was caught at the Grantley Adams International Airport attempting to flee the island.
The fine was imposed by Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes who is sitting at Cane Garden, St Thomas, on Wednesday.
She was quarantined at the Sugar Bay Hotel. She later returned two negative tests.
Holland was released on bail, the sum of which is still to be determined, until the fine is paid. Weekes said if the fine is not paid, a warrant for her arrest will be issued through Interpol. (HLE)

A former British beauty queen charged with breaching Barbados’ quarantine laws was released on bail earlier Wednesday when she appeared in the District D Magistrates’ Court.
Bail for Zara Holland was set at $20 000 with a follow up date of January 12, 2021 to ascertain whether the fine was paid.
Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes initially handed down a fine of $12 000 to be paid in seven days or nine months for breaching quarantine. If the money is not paid, Weekes said, a warrant for her arrest will be issued through Interpol.
