EU, Germany, France jointly provide 116 mln USD to develop rural infrastructure in Cambodia Adjust font size: PHNOM PENH, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) The European Union, Germany and France has earlier this week provided a credit agreement worth 95.8 million euros (116 million U.S. dollars) to Cambodia to support the Rural Infrastructure Development for Cambodia (RID4CAM) project, said a joint press statement on Wednesday. In Cambodia, where 70 percent of the population lives in rural areas, the project aims to finance both the improvement of rural road network in the country s central plain provinces and the construction of complementary infrastructure in drinking water and sanitation, agriculture, health and education sectors, the statement said.

Share France gives $91 million for agriculture, climate fight Tue, 22 December 2020 The French government, through the French Development Agency (AFD), has provided two credit agreements worth €75 million ($91 million) to Cambodia to support sustainable agricultural and rural development, as well as climate change fight in Cambodia. In a Facebook post on December 21, the French embassy said the agreements were signed by Cambodian Minister of Economy and Finance Aun Pornmoniroth, French ambassador to Cambodia Eva Nguyen Binh and AFD Cambodia director Ophelie Bourhis. The grants are for the Rural Infrastructure Development for Cambodia (RID4CAM) and Agriculture Value Chain Competitiveness and Safety Enhancement (ACSEP) projects.
