New Delhi: Agri and food companies on Monday hailed the decision to hike farm credit target and increase allocation for the agriculture ministry in the Budget, saying this will help in boosting farmers income and overall growth of the sector. Asserting that the government is committed towards farmers welfare, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday proposed 10 per cent hike in the farm loan disbursal target to Rs 16.5 lakh crore, and introduced an agri infra and development cess of up to 100 per cent to create post-harvest infrastructure for improving farmers income.

Chandigarh, Feb 1 : While hailing the Union Budget as visionary, pro-poor and forward-looking, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday said the focus on farming, healthcare, infrastructure, women and senior citizens would help in improving the lives of people.
Congratulating Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting the budget amid the unprecedented pandemic, Khattar said it would provide a boost to the economy and further strengthen the Sankalp of Aatmanirbhar Bharat .
The Haryana Chief Minister thanked Sitharaman for her announcement to extend the Swamitva Scheme (Survey of villages and mapping with improvised technology in villages) to all states and Union Territories.

Panaji, Feb 1 : Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said that the budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman would benefit the common man as well as the marginalised poor, even as the Opposition in Goa slammed the budget as pro-crony capitalist and anti-common man .
Sawant also thanked Sitharaman and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allocating Rs. 300 crore package on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Goa s Liberation from Portuguese rule. The fact that budget does not levy any additional tax burden on the common man is a big relief, Sawant said.
