In 2019 the total cost of rural crime - which includes fly tipping - stood at £54.3m, up from £49.9m the previous year and £39.2m in 2016

Crime in rural areas has risen nearly three times faster than the rest of the country in the last decade, new figures reveal.
The findings from the National Farmers Union show that the crime rate per 10,000 people has risen three times faster for those living in rural towns and villages than in the country as a whole since 2011.
