If you live in a major city, you probably do not experience the trouble of having to think about how many times you flush your toilet, or removing solids from your septic tank.

The 2021 grazing season is now in full swing across Northern Ireland, but is proving a challenge in managing grass with poor early season growth rates.
GrassCheck data from the last four years indicates that the daily grass growth rate on Northern Ireland dairy farms in May averaged 76kg dry matter per ha (kg DM/ha) over the month, therefore on a 30ha farm, around 71t of grass dry matter (DM) would be grown.
At a daily growth rate of 60kg DM/ha only 57t will be grown which is 20% less.
