Navjot Sanghera is the new regional adviser (West and North) for Maryam Monsef, minister for Women and Gender Equality and Rural Economic Development. Sanghera replaced Joanna Lam in March; Lam is now working at Health Minister Patty Hajdu’s office as a regional adviser.

Sanghera’s most recent position was as a project coordinator for Simon Fraser University.
She previously worked in the office of the minister of Foreign Affairs, as a research consultant in the private sector for Global Public Affairs, and as a constituency assistant to Liberal MP Randeep Sarai, who represents the riding of Surrey Centre, B.C. Commenting on what inspired her to return to work in the political sphere, Sanghera pointed to the particular portfolio of her new role.
