Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Desmond McKenzie has ordered the closure of Pigeon Cay off Jamaica s southern coast following a range of incidents involving persons using offshore locations to host parties in breach of the Disaster Risk Management Order.
Mr. McKenzie said persons have started to shift the illegal parties to Pigeon Cay following the closure of Lime Cay and Maiden Cay recently.
He said the police and the JDF Coast Guard will be enforcing the order to ensure no gatherings of any kind occur on these cays.
