An innocent Renault Clio driver was sent through a roundabout after being hit by drink driver Lincoln Simmons on the A23 in Crawley A MOTORIST who caused crash carnage while nearly four times the legal alcohol limit said he “felt fine to drive”. Lincoln Simmons was in a blue Volkswagen Passat on the A23 in Crawley when he struck a Renault Clio, which was sent through the roundabout at London Road. A 53-year-old woman from Haywards Heath driving the Clio was left in shock and had bruising. Her vehicle was left wrecked by the collision. Simmons failed to stop at the scene, and was found driving near Gatwick Airport a short distance away.
Police are investigating the incident in Haslett Avenue East, Three Bridges, near the railway station A CARELESS driver struck a pedestrian and knocked them unconscious while they were crossing the road. Audi driver Haroon Chaudhary hit the 29-year-old near Three Bridges railway station and then drove off without stopping. The victim was unconscious and had to be treated in hospital for serious injuries due to the collision in Haslett Avenue East in May last year. Police say he is lucky to be alive after the crash. Officers traced a white Audi A3 which was abandoned in Wilmington Close nearby. The following day hit-and-run driver Chaudhary handed himself in to police.
