Bangladesh have beaten Australia for the first time in a T20 cricket game, successfully defending a modest target of 132 and winning by 23 runs in Dhaka.
Australia again struggled against spin as they suffered their first T20 cricket loss to Bangladesh, crashing to a 23-run loss after chasing a modest target in the opening game of a five-match series in Dhaka.
It is the first bilateral T20 series between the two nations, with Australia having won each of their four World Cup encounters against Bangladesh.

England Test debutant Ollie Robinson said that he was “ashamed” and “embarrassed” by a series of historic sexist, racist and Islamophobic Twitter posts which leave him at risk of a ban from the international set-up.
The offensive tweets included: “I wonder if Asian people put smileys like this ¦) #racist”; “My new muslim friend is the bomb. #wheeyyyyy”; “Real n - don’t let the microwave hit 0:00”; and “Wash your fingers for the mingers #cuban”.

Cricket Australia’s interim chief executive Nick Hockley on Wednesday said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India is working to arrange a charter flight for the Australian contingent, before heading back home because of a travel ban on the Covid-19-hit India.
Later PTI reported that the contingent will be flying out to Maldives.
