NORFOLK, Va. â VDOT announced the top three finalists and the winning name selected for the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) at a virtual ceremony on Wednesday.
In collaboration with the Hampton Roads Connector Partners (HRCP), VDOT held a contest to formally name the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) that will be used to construct the new twin two-lane bored tunnels for the HRBT.
The contest launched in October and was open to all middle school students in Hampton Roads.
Newport News Public Schools giving free meals to students
The school system will be handing out prepackaged breakfasts, lunches, snacks and dinners twice a day. Families can pick up the meals by curbside pickup.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. Newport News Public Schools have started distributing free meals to their students as some kids start in-person learning while others are at home under virtual schooling.
Starting Monday, the school division will give out meals twice a day at various locations throughout Newport News. This is all a part of an updated meal service plan.

HAMPTON ROADS, Va. - Several local school districts will continue to provide free meals during winter break for all students.
Here s a list of the school districts that have announced their winter break schedule for food distribution:
Norfolk
School Nutrition will be offering free grab-n-go meals for children ages 18 and under at 23 school locations on Mondays and Wednesdays during Winter Break.
The dates of distribution will be December 21, 23, 28, and 30 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the following schools:
Booker T. Washington High: 1111 Park Ave., 23504
Granby High: 7101 Granby St., 23505
Norview High: 6501 Chesapeake Blvd., 23513
Azalea Gardens Middle: 7721 Azalea Garden Rd., 23518
