Tesla CEO Elon Musk has stated that his company will likely start accepting Bitcoin for vehicle purchases again despite previously expressing worries over the carbon emissions of Bitcoin mining.
CNBC reports that Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently stated that his electric car manufacturer is likely to start accepting Bitcoin for vehicle purchases again; this represents a complete reversal of his previous statement that Tesla would no longer accept Bitcoin as a payment method due to the environmental impact of Bitcoin mining.
Speaking at the B-Word Conference, an event hosted by the Crypto Council for Innovation, Musk stated: “It looks like bitcoin is shifting a lot more toward renewables and a bunch of the heavy-duty coal plants that were being used…have been shut down, especially in China.”

Nothing is off limits declared the teaser for Bitcoin As a Tool for Economic Empowerment, a panel discussion between Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX; Jack Dorsey, CEO of Square and Twitter; and Cathie Wood, CEO of Ark Invest, at The B Word conference from the Crypto Council for Innovation. The question came toward the end of the panel, after Dorsey had put his all his verbal support behind the currency, and Musk had more or less followed, with a bit of hedging.
