Benchmark NSE Nifty index was trading 105.15 points down at 14328.55 on Monday on account of selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: Happiest Minds Technologies, HDFC Bank, Indian Energy Exchange; Orchid Pharma, Kajaria Ceramics, Anant Raj Global, Sundaram Brake Linings, Tata Steel Long Products, JBM Auto, Emco Ltd, Greenpanel Industries and Eris Lifesciences.
Overall, 9 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 41 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.
In the Nifty 50 index, UPL , HDFC Bank, Wipro, Nestle India and RIL were among top gainers, while Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Hindalco Inds., ONGC and Bajaj Finance were trading in red.
Basic materials stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Basic Materials index rising 37.87 points or 1.03% at 3725.24 at 09:48 IST. Among the components of the S&P BSE Basic Materials index, Fineotex Chemical Ltd (up 8.14%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd (up 7.01%),Tata Steel Long Products Ltd (up 4.95%),Orient Paper & Industries Ltd (up 4.78%),West Coast Paper Mills Ltd (up 4.61%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Pennar Industries Ltd (up 4.59%), Sanghi Industries Ltd (up 3.84%), National Fertilizer Ltd (up 3.81%), Rain Industries Ltd (up 3.79%), and Tata Metaliks Ltd (up 3.58%). On the other hand, Pokarna Ltd (down 4.99%), Anant Raj Ltd (down 3.74%), and Greenpanel Industries Ltd (down 3%) moved lower.

Among the other gainers were Manali Petrochemicals Ltd (up 3%), Century Textiles & Industries Ltd (up 2.99%), NCL Industries Ltd (up 2.58%), Phillips Carbon Black Ltd (up 2.53%), and Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd (up 2.44%). On the other hand, Greenpanel Industries Ltd (down 2.76%), Ruchira Papers Ltd (down 1.53%), and Everest Industries Ltd (down 1.13%) moved lower.
