Kidnappers of 121 Kaduna students yet to demand ransom, police promise rescue The Punch

Six days after the abduction of the 121 students of the Bethel Baptist High School, Kaduna, the kidnappers have yet to demand a ransom.
It was learnt on Saturday that another round of special prayer sessions was organised by the Baptist Church pastors’ wives on the school premises on Saturday.
The women sought God’s intervention for the release of the students in the bandits’ den.
The President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Revd Israel Akanji, had on Friday, said prayers were being held across the Baptist World Alliance, comprising 127 countries of the world.

Early Monday morning (5), 140 students were kidnapped from a boarding school in Chikun, Nigeria, in the latest attack on schools and the tenth in just over seven months in the country’s northwest.
With the episode, the number of kidnapped in educational institutions since December 2020 has reached nearly a thousand, and 150 of them are still missing. The practice has become common in Nigeria, and experts point to an industry in which criminals profit from collecting ransoms.
“The pandemic has contributed to the increase [dos sequestros], because people are unemployed, there are high levels of poverty in the country, as well as challenges related to terrorism, ”says Hadiza Usman, of the Rule of Law Empowerment Initiative, an NGO specializing in the administration of Security.

There are hundreds of others from unrecorded abductions, still with kidnappers. Hundreds of children are being abused in forests and all we get are rhetoric from a lame federal government that controls all the security agencies in the country. While we sleep in the comfort of our rooms, hundreds of our children are with beasts in the forests. The latest addition to the number of our children in the forest is the 121 taken from Bethel Baptist High School in Kaduna State. The bandits strolled into the school, operated for over an hour unchallenged, and walked out with 121 children. It can only happen in Nigeria.

A notorious bandit operating within the precincts of Zamfara State forest recently boasted about his operations and exploits against the Nigerian military.
In a trending video, the bandit who was identified by his alias, Dankarami, was holding a rifle while surrounded by a crowd.
He granted an interview to some persons suspected to be government officials, including policemen. In the video which lasted four minutes, 40 seconds, the dreadlocked bandit was heard boasting about his ambushes against military convoys in Zamfara State.
