GREENFIELD A Vermont man arrested by Northfield police following a chase last week did not appear for his court date, and now has a warrant out for his arrest.
Mark K. Anderson, a 40-year-old man from Brattleboro, Vt., was confirmed by Northfield Police Chief Robert Leighton as the man arrested following a multi-hour vehicle and foot chase Sunday, Feb. 21, that arose from a traffic stop for a defective muffler.
Anderson was arrested on numerous charges, including defective vehicle equipment, unlicensed operation of a vehicle, speeding, a stop sign violation, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for an officer and an open container violation, after fleeing from officers following the traffic stop on Warwick Road. According to Leighton, once Anderson crashed his vehicle at 26 Main St., he fled on foot.

Two residents of Eden Mills, Vt. are facing drug charges after a traffic stop in Bernardston revealed 106 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 27 grams of suspected fentanyl in the vehicle they were traveling in.

BERNARDSTON Two residents of Eden Mills, Vt. are facing drug charges after a traffic stop on Interstate 91 shortly before midnight on Monday revealed 106 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 27 grams of suspected fentanyl in the vehicle they were traveling in.
According to a Massachusetts State Police press release, Trooper Adam D. Couture of the Shelburne Falls barracks was on patrol on Interstate 91 northbound in Bernardston when he observed a silver Toyota SUV with a defective exhaust and a defective license plate light.

GREENFIELD Three Vermont men were arrested for possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute and trafficking in cocaine after a traffic stop in Greenfield.
Police say the men were carrying about 22 grams of cocaine and 70 wax bags of fentanyl, the synthetic version of heroin that can be up to 100 times more potent, and five 12-gauge shot shells.
State police first found the Vermont men as they were driving northbound on Interstate 91 with an unreadable license plate. The Subaru Impreza then exited to Greenfield, where the trooper would eventually catch up to the car.
