Churches across SVG host National Day of Prayer Reverend Adolf Davis Social Share CHURCHES ACROSS the state yesterday turned attention to repentance as one area of focus as they led the state in a national day of prayer and fasting. Making remarks at the start of the event which involved periods of prayer, praise and worship, and messages from the word of God, President of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Christian Council, Rev Adolf Davis said: “we will affirm God’s sovereignty, affirm that He is God over St Vincent and the Grenadines, celebrate God’s faithfulness and give him thanks for he has been at work…” Davis, who is also Superintendent Minister of the Methodist Church Kingstown/Chateaubelair Circuit, said that “God has been blessing us, but we will also spend time today recognizing where we need to make right with God, where we need to say ‘God I am sorry, we are sorry, God forgive me.”

Today we observe a National Day of Prayer

NBC SVG Prayers are being offered across the nation today, as St. Vincent and the Grenadines observes a National Day of Prayer, to seek God’s intervention as the country grapples with a number of challenges. Many of the Church Leaders have gathered at the Faith Temple Church at New Montrose, where a special session of prayer and praise was held this morning. Addressing the event, President of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Christian Council, Reverend Adolf Davis, emphasized the importance of prayer, especially during times of great challenge. Reverend Davis noted that periods of challenge and crisis, provide an opportunity for introspection and humility.

SVG Christian Council encourages Godly calm and trust The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Christian Council encourages all to be calm, prayerful, and hopeful amidst the current developments with respect to the eruption of the LaSoufriere Volcano, and the evacuation of those living in the Red Zone. It remains true that cooperation and camaraderie, working together and looking out for one another are invaluables asset in times of great challenge. This spirit of collaboration and solidarity that has been wonderfully demonstrated by neighboring countries, ought to be even more evident by all of us on the ground.  We have already received words of encouragement and promise of support from both the Barbados and Grenada Christian Councils. We are mindful that there will be shortcomings by various participants in the management of this situation, however , we ask for an approach to such that is responsible both in our attitudes and utterances, seeking to build rather than break down, to
