Transavia, a member of the Air France-KLM Group is adding three new routes to its service to Greece this summer, offering new connections to
Preveza, Corfu and Santorini from France, the Greek Tourism Ministry said on Saturday.
The announcement followed Greek Tourism Minister
Harry Theoharis’official visit to France, during which he met with representatives of the airline.
According to senior executives of Transavia, Greece is currently first in terms of bookings and will most likely be the first destination in sales for Transavia this year, exceeding the demand for Spain and Portugal.
“This is why Transavia has increased the estimated number of passengers to our country for 2021 and has boosted capacity to 1,100,000 seats,” the tourism ministry said.

Greece is expecting an increased number of visitors from Poland this year, Greek Tourism Minister
Harry Theoharis said after wrapping up his recent official visit to the country.
The minister’s visit to Poland was part of an awareness-raising effort ahead of Greece’s official opening to tourists on May 14 with no quarantine requirement for vaccinated travelers or those with a negative PCR test.
In meetings with leading representatives of the Polish tourism market, the minister strengthened Greece’s position as a safe and high quality tourism destination and received confirmation that demand for travel to the country this year was very high.
Greek Tourism Minister
Harry Theoharis on Monday departed for London days before Greece officially opens its gates to tourists.
Theoharis is scheduled to meet with senior government officials and representatives of airlines and executives from the UK tourism market and promote the opening of Greek tourism for 2021.
More specifically, the Greek tourism minister has a scheduled meeting with
Nigel Adams, the Minister for Asia at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
According to an announcement by the Greek Tourism Ministry, the two ministers will discuss the terms of lifting travel restriction between England and Greece in the near future.
Theoharis will also meet with senior executives of Great Britain’s three leading airlines, namely British Airways, easyJet and Jet2.

LOT Polish Airlines is adding three new routes to its flight schedule to Greece this summer, offering new connections to
Thessaloniki, Heraklion and Rhodes from Poland, the Greek Tourism Ministry said on Friday.
The announcement follows an agreement made between Greek Tourism Minister
Harry Theoharis and representatives of LOT that sees the carrier
expanding its flight schedule to Greece for 2021.
The Warsaw-based Star Alliance airline this summer will connect
Poznan with Thessaloniki; Katowice with Heraklion (Crete); and Gdansk with Rhodes.
“These are routes that will be added to LOT’s expanded program for Greece, which is more enhanced than that of 2019,” Theoharis said, underlining that the agreement with the airline will contribute to boosting tourist arrivals to Greece this summer.

German travel giant TUI will begin its summer 2021 holiday packages to Greece as of May 14, the date the country has scheduled to officially open for tourism.
The announcement follows a meeting held on Tuesday in Berlin between Greek Tourism Minister
Harry Theoharis and representatives of the German tourism group,
Sebastian Ebel, member of the Executive Board and
Thomas Ellerbeck, member of the Executive Committee.
According to the announcement, TUI will relaunch its activities in Greece from May 14 and 15 with
flights carried out by TUIfly to the airports of
Heraklion, Araxos, Corfu, Rhodes and Kos.
More specifically, according to the company’s schedule, TUIfly will start flights to Heraklion, Crete, on May 14, with departures from six airports (Hannover, Munich, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, Cologne and Frankfurt). Flights from Germany to Greece will continue the next day, on May 15, to the islands of Kos, Rhodes and Corfu.
