ATLANTA Sen. Jon Ossoff told 11Alive Wednesday that he is working to obtain more funds for Georgia s safety net hospitals including Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
In a letter, he wrote to Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra about the need for Georgia s hospitals to receive additional funds through the Provider Relief Funds (PRF) amid the rise of COVID-19 cases and the spread of COVID-19 variants.

Atlanta police are searching for the gunman who shot and killed a high school student in northwest Atlanta.
ATLANTA - An Atlanta area high student shot multiple times is recovering right now at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Police found the girl early Sunday morning in northwest Atlanta. She s afraid, Janice Bailey said. She s scared that they might come back for her.
Bailey said police found her 17-year-old daughter on Defoor Hills Drive near Collier Road with several gunshot wounds. She was shot in the back and it went out through her lungs so her lung was punctured and it collapsed. She was shot in her leg and is projected to her hip and her hip was shattered, Bailey explained.
