Almost all of its tourist attractions will celebrate the unofficial start of the town’s tourist season May 1.
The one notable exception is the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum, which will remain closed to visitors. Because it is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, the Eisenhower Library is subject to federal guidelines for reopening, as are all presidential libraries.
But for the rest of the town and Dickinson County, face masks are discretionary, not mandated, and there is no limit on the number of people who gather.

The Kansas Highway Patrol has released the names of the people involved in a two-vehicle wreck that killed three people and injured two children. Three dogs also died.
The crash was reported at around 12:10 p.m. Friday on U.S. 56 near Hillsboro in Marion County, the Wichita Eagle reported.

A 5-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy were taken to Wesley Medical Center.
“They don’t believe they are life-threatening though, but they are significant enough to get them down to Wichita,” Trooper Ben Gardner said.
