Best of CES 2021
If you browsed the all-digital CES 2021 showcase this week in search of the latest and greatest PCs especially laptops it’s unlikely you were disappointed. The online showcases included a massive number of innovative new laptops (and even a few desktops) from PC makers including Lenovo, HP, Dell and Dynabook. And while hands-on time was not an option this year, we’ve done our best to round up the best new laptops and desktop PCs that we spotted at the online show. We’ve attempted to do the same with rounding up the coolest new mobile devices at CES- ncluding 5G smartphones and 2-in-1 tablets as well as the hottest wearable devices unveiled at CES, such as AR smart glasses and wireless earbuds. All in all, CES 2021 still turned out to be a big event in terms of announcements of cutting-edge devices, with vendors including Samsung, Microsoft and Acer also among those that launched major new products at the show.
CES 2021 may have been an entirely virtual show, but that didn t stop the announcements from coming thick and fast. It was dominated by PC news, and manufacturers announced
quite a few new laptops across many categories. The major impetus for all these new machines was three things: silicon, silicon, and more silicon.
One or more of three new component-platform launches drove all this innovation: Nvidia s GeForce RTX 30-Series GPUs, Intel s Tiger Lake Core H-Series and vPro processors, and AMD s Ryzen 5000 Cezanne CPUs are all coming to laptops. In sync with all that action, PC makers updated their most popular lines, overhauled others, and developed entirely new paradigms of product building off these offerings. Here s a look at some of our favorites from the show, from gaming laptops to Chromebooks.

Acer has announced its new Chromebook Spin 514 with AMD Ryzen 3000 C-series processors and Radeon graphics. The Spin 514 is made for watching videos, working from anywhere and also has an Enterprise version available from business customers. Acer has also unveiled three new gaming monitors ahead of CES 2021 and one of the monitors, the Nitro XV282K supports HDMI 2.1 for running games in UHD at 120FPS.
Acer Chromebook Spin 514 has a thin and light profile with a chassis made of anodized aluminium and is U.S. MIL-STD 810H certified for its durability. The Spin 514 measures 17.35 millimetres in thickness and weighs 1.55 kilograms. Acer claims that the Spin 514 can survive drops from up to 48 inches height and withstand up to 60 kilograms of pressure.
