A MODERN state-of-the art ward complex has officially opened at one of the longest established hospitals in Limerick and the Mid West region.
The Maigue Unit, named for the river that flows through Croom village includes 24 en-suite single rooms which are built around a courtyard garden area, and forms a visually stunning architectural showpiece at the entrance to Croom Orthopaedic Hospital.

Public health bosses have reported 3,231 more cases of Covid-19 in Ireland over the last 24 hours, with 60 new deaths.
The latest figures, released by the Department of Health on Saturday evening, bring to 169,780 the total number of cases recorded in Ireland since the pandemic began.
The total death toll from the virus now stands at 2,595, as fears grow of another variant that s now been identified in Brazil.
