Youth event in Violet Town success
Supported by FReeZA, the free event featured local music acts Splinter X, Ynot and Mason Rae-Green as well as an impressive demonstration from local BMX stars.
Euroa artist Lauren Erikson from Everyday Lines created a beautiful mural and attendees also had the chance to join in the fun, creating artworks for another mural overseen by Kate Van Nooten.
The event was also a chance for young people to practice their event skills with two young Violet Town locals Zeke Coles and Abbie Fuller MCing throughout the day.
Strathbogie Shire Council Mayor Cr Chris Raeburn said it was fantastic seeing new facilities being put to good use.

Community for common goals
“The action group is not about funding; it is about connecting the community to achieve common goals,” president Laura Baker said.
“We know there are so many great organisations in Euroa; our role is to be a community connector between organisations so that we can maximise impact in the community.”
After returning to hometown Euroa during the global pandemic in 2020, Ms Baker continued to work remotely for Local Government in metropolitan Melbourne.
With a desire to help strengthen the Euroa community and a career skillset in Local Government, Ms Baker’s interest in ECAG was piqued when a friend encouraged her to attend its AGM in April.

Young learner drivers receiving support in Strathbogie Shire
Funded by VicRoads and managed by Shepparton-based family service organisation Berry Street, the program is open to young learner drivers aged 16 to 24 years who have difficulty accessing a car, supervised hours or other difficulties which are standing in the way of achieving their license.
The program offers learner drivers the use of a car, a mentor and driving lessons.
Learners need to fund their own learners and probationary licenses, but all other costs are covered.
There is an opportunity for people to sign up as mentors who are required to help young people gain their driver’s license.
