MIAMI Returning to a pitching-prominent organization has long been the Marlins objective. For years, stockpiling as many quality arms as possible has been the plan. But the results didn t always follow.
Right now, the franchise is seeing progress at all levels. The strong pitching being seen at the big league level is also mirrored in the Minor League system.
Pitching carried the Marlins in their 8-1 road trip that wrapped up with a 5-3 win in 12 innings over the Astros on Wednesday. During the three-city, nine-game swing, Miami pitchers combined for a 2.07 ERA, allowing 20 earned runs in 87 innings.

With all the changes being made to the minor leagues, it seems fitting to take a look at some of the top single-season offensive performances in Colorado’s farm club history. This is somewhat of a dubious list, as most on it are. let’s just say unrecognizable. But it also comes with one caveat: Triple-A stats only. This partly explains the list, as most top names make only brief stops at Triple-A before heading to the big leagues. Sorry, Hartford, Asheville and Modesto, this list is reserved for Sky Sox and Isotopes only.
