There’s a lot riding on
WandaVision. Not only is the first piece of Marvel content anyone will have seen in over a year (that hasn’t happened since 2008), it’s the first Marvel series on Disney Plus.
Marvel Studios’
WandaVision will blend the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
The reviews are beginning to trickle in ahead of its premiere on Friday, and they’re glowing.

Last year’s MCU backlog means we’ll be up to Hulk’s neck in new material in 2021. The festivities kick off with something original: the first TV show led by Kevin Feige and the movie side of Marvel,
WandaVision. The series sees Scarlett Witch and Vision living a bizarre retro-sitcom-style life; and it looks like the most surreal, weirdest entry in the MCU yet. Will such a strange approach work though? And will Marvel’s success on the big screen translate to the small? Based on initial reactions from critics who have watched the first three episodes, the answer to both questions is a resounding yes.
The first Disney+ series from Marvel Studios that takes place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is
WandaViaion. The series starring
Elizabeth Olsen and
Paul Bettany as the superhero couple Wanda Maximoff and Vision will debut with two episodes on
January 15, but critics have already seen the first three episodes of the show and have taken to social media with their initial reactions to the series. It sounds like there’s quite an intriguing mystery in this unique and ambitious series, so let’s take a look at the
WandaVision early buzz to see what people think so far.

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been waiting anxiously for a taste of new content, and theyâll get it relatively soon with the release of Disney+âs
WandaVision. As a homage to sitcoms of different eras, the âbonkersâ show is primed to be unlike anything Marvel Studios has ever produced. So in a way, it can definitely be viewed as a big swing for the company. Now, critics have screened the first three episodes of the show, and theyâve taken to the internet to share their thoughts.
So far,
WandaVision is receiving high praise from critics from various outlets. CinemaBlendâs own Sean OâConnell was floored by what heâs seen of the show, and he praised the series for the way it recreates sitcom motifs:
