More students have shown up for school, more schools are moving to virtual learning and school nurses will it is hoped be included in the second wave of Alabama vaccines, state superintendent Eric Mackey said during the Alabama Board of Education s Thursday work session.
As the state endures record-high hospitalization rates due to COVID-19, Mackey spoke about ways Alabama students, teachers and families continue to be impacted educationally. He referred to the instructional crisis students who haven t been in school since March face, as well as the hope he has for a semblance of normalcy come spring as vaccines are expected to begin distribution next week.
