ASHLAND After almost 20 years of service, Dr. James Wolfe is stepping down from the Ashland City Board of Education due to personal reasons.
His seat will be open June 14.
This seat will technically be considered incumbent as they will need to run in the November election. He wanted to retire from Board earlier, but Mike Heimann had to retire for health reasons, Board President Zack Truax said. He wanted to retire again, but Dustin Kruty resigned. We had to replace them and get the new Board members up to speed. Being the professional [Wolfe] is, he didn’t want to leave us high and dry. Now, we re in a good spot to find a replacement.
Replaces retired Steve Stone
He replaces Steve Stone, who retired on Dec. 31, 2020. The Ashland community is big on relationships and I appreciate those relationships with our provider agencies, Ross said. . This county can take good ideas and bring them to fruition, which benefits the community.
MHRB is an 18-member board and contracts with Appleseed Community Mental Health Center, Catholic Charities of Ashland County and Ashland County Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse to provide services for county residents.
Has a master s degree in community counseling
A graduate of Akron University with both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in community counseling, Ross also holds a license as a clinical counselor with supervision endorsement through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
