ATLANTA, Ga. (WALB) - Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has selected a commission to look into the effects of Nashville Mayor Taylor Scarbroughâs indictment, according to an executive order from the governorâs office.
In the order, it states that Attorney General Christopher Carr, Mayor Ken Lee of Rincon, and Mayor Vince Williams of Union City were appointed to the commission.
The order explains that the purpose of the review committee is to âdetermine whether the indictment relates to and adversely affects the administration of the office of Mayor Scarbrough such that the rights and interests of the public are adversely affected thereby and to make a written report to me within fourteen days with a recommendation as to whether said mayor should be sus

After a two-day hearing, members of an ethics panel voted to give Forsyth County District 3 Commissioner Todd Levent a warning in a split, 2-1 decision from panelists Amelia Phillips, Linwood Gunn and Edwin Saginar, who are attorneys from outside of Forsyth County.
In an ethics evidentiary hearing, held on Monday, March 1 and Tuesday, March 2, attorneys delved into whether or not Levent directed a county employee, Carol Balcome, to access emails from District 4 Commissioner Cindy Jones Mills after a complaint was filed in 2020 by District 5 Commissioner Laura Semanson, who served as BOC chairwoman at the time.

The George State Election Board announced last week that they are investigating Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) and the New Georgia Project – which Stacey Abrams founded – over allegations that the organization dragged their feet to deliver more than 1,200 voter applications to election officials back in 2019.
An investigator for Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) claims the New Georgia Project delivered 1,268 voting applications to Gwinnett County election officials in time. By law, all voting applications have to be turned in to county election offices within a 14-day timeframe.
